AL CPA DIRECT

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Alabama CPA Directory ("we," "us," or "the Site"), operated by Brooks Conkle, collects, uses, and shares information when you use cpasinalabama.com. By using the Site, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Directory data. The core directory is built from publicly available Alabama CPA and firm licensing records (such as name, city, license number, and firm affiliation). This information is public record and is not collected from you.

Information you provide. If you submit a listing upgrade or contact us, we collect what you send us — such as your name, email address, phone number, license number, firm, website, bio, and any other details you choose to include.

Usage data. Like most websites, we automatically collect standard analytics data (pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and referring site) through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the directory;
  • Process and fulfill listing upgrades;
  • Respond to your messages and requests;
  • Understand how the Site is used so we can make it better;
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party services we use

We rely on trusted third-party providers to run the Site. Each processes data on our behalf under its own privacy policy:

  • Vercel — website hosting and content delivery.
  • Google Firebase (Firestore) — database that stores directory data and listing-upgrade submissions.
  • Stripe — payment processing for listing upgrades. We never see or store your full card details; Stripe handles payment information directly.
  • Google Analytics — website usage analytics.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (used to notify us of submissions and to reply to you).

Cookies

We use cookies for analytics to understand site usage. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; the Site will still function without them.

Your choices and rights

You may request that we access, correct, or delete the personal information you've provided, or ask that your listing be removed, by emailing info@cpasinalabama.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Data retention & security

We keep the information you provide for as long as needed to operate the directory and fulfill upgrades, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
